I was born in Abilene, Texas on March 5th 1996. I have two loving parents and three older siblings (two brothers and one sister). I’ve been blessed with extraordinary experiences throughout my life. I love traveling, snowboarding, fly fishing, gaming, doodling, hip-hop, art, poetry, food, reading, writing, thinking, talking, and experiencing new cultures.
I despised writing until I went to college. There I met a handful of amazing professors that truly inspired me. They really got me thinking. They showed me how writing can be used to develop ideas, arguments, and criticisms. I recall walking away from one of my professor’s lectures and having my mind racing, in a state of total flow. Ideas about economics, development, and the impact of trade zipped through my mind at a remarkable pace. As I was walking back to my house I decided that I simply needed to start writing.
Initially, I wasn’t sure what to write about. Economics and Philosophy were top of my list, but those are tough topics to tackle as an undergrad, since I was still learning the basics. Instead, I started writing about the experiences that I’ve encountered, and the personal growth that I’ve engaged in.
I named this site Sage.Express, yet I am no Sage. The “Sage” is something I aspire to be, but I am wise only insofar to know I’m not wise at all. In no way do I see myself as enlightened. Actually, I’m ignorant, young, and often naive. However, I’d like to think that I’m on my own perpetual pursuit of enlightenment.
This is the place I want to express my ideas, and improve my ability to Write. I want to use writing to transcend into a much more knowledgeable, understanding, and well rounded individual.
I think we can all learn from each other’s ideas. Knowledge is power. This is the place to learn about my ideas.
